Arc the Lad Series
* Arc the Lad Collection [I, II, III] (PSX)
* Arc the Lad: Kijin Fukkatsu (WSC-JP)
* 1.5 Arc the Lad: Twilight of the Spirits (PS2)
* 1.6 Arc the Lad: End of Darkness (PS2)
Arc the Lad is a series of RPGs that were mainly released for the PlayStation and more recently the PlayStation 2. Most of the games were published by SCEI in Japan. The games never reached the west until Arc the Lad Collection was released by Working Designs in 2002. An anime based on Arc the Lad II, was also made.
Most of the games in the series are tactical RPGs, aside from Arc the Lad: End of Darkness, which still features RPG elements. Each of the games also feature recurring characters, such as the main character, Arc, who appears in several of the games.
Bahamut Lagoon (SNES - 1996)
Bahamut Lagoon combines RPG mechanics with squad-based combat. Characters have HP, MP (SP for fighter characters), EXP, equipment, stats and class-specific, SP-draining special elemental abilities very much like traditional console RPGs. The player can explore his surroundings, talk to people and visit shops when not in battle, though to a limited degree as there is no world map and no way to leave the current area.
The game's core is its turn-based battles fought on a 2d grid. Characters are assembled into parties of four and the player allowed a maximum of six parties, which are usually well outnumbered. The two opposing sides act in alternating turns so that each party can move once and/or attack once a turn. Attacks are divided into distant and close-up combat. In the former, a party uses a special ability (e.g. casting fireballs, throwing lightning, healing allies) of one of its members at a distance. The range and possible area of effect damage vary per ability. If the attacking party has two or more characters with the same ability, they join in the action to multiply its effectiveness. Distant combat results in less money and generally less damage, but the target cannot retaliate. Distant attacks can also affect the field; fire and ice ignite or extinguish forests and melt or freeze ice, etc. Close-up, each unit in two adjacent opposing parties can act once. Very much like Final Fantasy SNES combat, they can attack an enemy, use an item or a special ability (though these can't be combined and most only affect one target instead of all) or defend.
Bahamut Senki (1991 - SMD)
The game offers a unique soundtrack for each of the many playable "races" in the game, and has various levels of gameplay that ranged from arcade Archon-style creature-on-creature combat to strategy similar to Koei's strategy games like Gemfire and Nobunaga's Ambition. Two-player games are also an option, given the variety that the game offered with the occasional arcade action battle to break up the quiet strategy and planning.
Disgaea Series
* Disgaea: Hour of Darkness (PS2, PSP, NDS)
* Disgaea 2: Cursed Memories (PS2, PSP)
* Makai Kingdom: Chronicles of the Sacred Tome (PS2)
* Prinny: Can I Really Be the Hero? (PSP - talvez)
* Disgaea 3: Absence of Justice (PS3 - fora)

The story of Disgaea opens with Laharl rising out of an open coffin in his room. Etna, one of the castle vassals, is standing next to him, surrounded by various weapons. She explains that he has been sleeping for two years, far longer than he intended, and his father, King Krichevskoy, has died. Laharl vows to reclaim the throne, and, after consulting with Etna and his other vassals, goes to Vyers' castle.
Disgaea is a tactical role playing game. Battle gameplay takes place on a map divided into a square grid. The player controls a squad of humanoid units and monsters, which each occupy a single square of the grid and do combat with a group of enemies. Depending on the character and attack selected, the player will be able to deal damage to a specific enemy unit or a designated region of the map. Combat ends when all enemy units or all of the player's units are destroyed.
Front Mission Series
* Front Mission (SNES-JP tradução, NDS)
* Front Mission: Alternative (PSX-JP =/)
* Front Mission 2 (PSX-JP =/)
* Front Mission 3 (PSX)
* Front Mission 4 (PS2)
* Front Mission 5 (PS2-JP =/)
* Front Mission: Online (PS2, PC - JP, fora)
* Front Mission: Gun Hazard (Shooter - Spin-off)
The storyline in the series revolves around military conflicts and political tension between powerful consolidated nations that form during the 21st and 22nd centuries.
Front Mission is structured like a traditional tactical role-playing game. All of the main installments and the 2089 series installments are classified under this specific genre. The other three spin-offs are classified under different genres. Front Mission: Gun Hazard is a 2D side-scrolling shooter. Front Mission: Alternative is a 3D real-time strategy (RTS) game. Front Mission Online is an online 3D shooter similar to Armored Core. Although the majority of the series have been turn-based tactical role-playing games, a recent interview with Front Mission developer Koichi Sakamoto suggests that the development team is interested in combining real-time and turn-based aspects for future installments.
Luminous Arc Series
* Luminous Arc (NDS)
* Luminous Arc 2 (NDS)
* Luminous Arc 3 (NDS)
Luminous Arc is a tactical role-playing game and uses a battlefield grid viewed from an isometric perspective. One of the special traits is the Flash Drive Gauge, which, when filled, allows a character to use a special attack. Between battles, players can view short sequences featuring the game's mascot, Kopin, and intermission sequences that will allow the player to get to know the characters in the party better. The game also includes a multiplayer battle mode.

Do primeiro jogo
Ogre Battle mixes movement elements of a real-time strategy game with the character development and combat of a role-playing game. The game consists of a series of battles in which the player deploys units to fight against enemies and liberate occupied towns and temples. A variety of character types can be recruited, ranging from common to rare, many of whom can change class with experience points. As a result, the character will either evolve or become an entirely new soldier with different abilities. Potential recruits consist of several historical and mythological figures, including knights, ninja, wizards, angels, griffins, witches, and others. The player is free to organize multiple units of five fighters or less, with the limit being lower when larger characters are present. Additionally, time passes on the tactical map, alternating between day and night. In accordance with this element, vampires and werewolves will only be seen in the evening, with the former appearing in coffins during the day, and the latter appearing as normal men.
Do segundo jogo
The game has a similar style to most tactical RPG's: the player builds up a team of several characters with changeable classes and fights on an isometric playing field. The order of movement is determined by the speed of individual characters, in contrast to games in which each side moves its entire team at once. The gameplay is intermixed with expositional cutscenes revealing the plot, shown in the same isometric view as the battles. Movement and team management between battles are done through a map interface.
Vandal Hearts Series
* Vandal Hearts (PSX)
* Vandal Hearts 2 (PSX)
It was among the first console role-playing games to be released for the 32-bit systems. It was one of the earliest tactical role-playing games to be released in North America, and garnered a small cult following. The game proved popular enough to spawn a sequel, Vandal Hearts II, also for the Sony PlayStation.
